FRONTIER GALVANIZING
Founded in 1948, Frontier Galvanizing maintains a 70,000 square foot facility at 1740 Elmwood Avenue in Buffalo, New York. The facility annually processes 25,000,000 pounds of quality controlled Hot-Dip Galvanized structural steel, miscellaneous metals and highway fabrications for the construction industry.
Sizes which are handled range from large structural members to precision fabricated components for OEM Manufactures. The plant includes the appropriate surface preparation equipment and a 27 feet long, 6 feet deep, 4 feet wide Galvanizing Tank. See our Operating Philosophy.
FRONTIER HOT DIP GALVANIZING
The process is universally regarded as the ultimate protection for ferrous products and structures - hot dip galvanizing - dates back to 1742 when a method of coating iron by dipping in molten zinc was first discovered.
Hot dip galvanizing is different from all other coating processes because it produces a metallurgical bond between the zinc and the steel which it protects. Between the zinc and steel are two identifiable layers of created alloy consisting of zinc and iron in varying proportions. While the technique of application has evolved, the principles of galvanizing remain essentially unchanged.
The result of the process is an all but impenetrable integrated surface which prevents corrosion more effectively than any other process available. Performance varies according to the type of structure and its atmospheric environment, but many applications will have a conservative life cycle in excess of 40 years. Comparable painted surfaces will require periodic maintenance and repainting during the same time line.
Frontier Galvanizing has been supplying high quality hot dip galvanizing services in the northeast since 1947. Customers include major durable goods manufactures, architectural product OEM¢??s construction companies, public utilities, transportation departments, and large industrial operations.
We provide large tank capacity permitting single pass coatings for piece parts up to 26.5 feet in length by 5 feet in height. An integral part of our service is our metallurgical lab which offers tight quality controls on all our chemistry and processes. For over four decades we have been recognized for fast turnaround, defect free workmanship and competitive pricing.
If your project, whether it¢??s a chemical processing plant or a highway bridge, requires cost effective steel protection, consider the advantages of Frontier Hot Dip Galvanizing:
- Low maintenance demands
- Extensive life cycle compared to paint
- Low life cycle costs compared to paint
- No structural down time
- No field painting during installation
